I believe in the power of things and in the aura of objects, and I believe they help us remember things about ourselves that maybe we never even knew, but feel familiar nonetheless.

I'm making my first quilt right now, inspired by some amazing modern quilters, and I want it to be the first of many. 

004 | Painting

There's a magic in making things. Real tangible things. So much of my work is digital, and I think digital work is just as valid as tangible work, but there's an aura in things that sometimes escapes digital work. I've been experimenting with paint lately, and it feels so good. I don't know if any of these paintings will ever become more than studies, but for now I'm happy for the exploration and how they're informing other work.

003 | Magic Dust

I've been loving pastels lately, which is a big change for me - usually I'm all about stark white and sterile images. I'm itching to make something (other than jpgs) with these colors. Falling into these colors feels like a shift to me, the beginning of a new wave of work.

Those little white creatures sounded like they looked: quiet, sharp, and dripping.

Welcome to my new blog. It feels nice to have this fresh, new space to share my process and inspiration. This blog, along with my artist website, still have some work to be done, but I'm excited for this new room to grow.
